And your license ends up getting suspended for non-payment/failure to have insurance? What is the process to getting it back? How much does it all cost? Will my insurance go up?

If you fail to keep insurance on your vehicle that is registered in Florida, the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is authorized to suspend your driving privilege, including your vehicle tag and registration, for up to three years or until proof of Florida insurance is provided, whichever is first.
If your driving privileges are suspended because you are not properly insured there is a penalty to reinstate your license. A reinstatement fee of $150 and up to $500, for subsequent violations, must be paid and you must provide proof of current Florida insurance.
Yes your rates will go up..
you are in for some rude times/see if you can get back with old company first/next/ if that doesnt work search auto insurance in your zip code and get costs and coverages/they may not cut you a break because you stopped paying once before/get insurance proof and go to fl dmv office and see what you can do/dont drive/they will seriously gong you if your picked up
You are no longer insured. Same as in any other state.
Hah, I am in this situation right now. (in florida)
If your insurance expires on you because you didnt pay, They will send u a letter in the mail stating that if you do not show proof of insurance by such and such date, your license, tags and registration get suspended. So if you got that letter, and you still have time to show proof, go get insurance now, trust me you do not want to get all that suspended, or you will be paying some MONEY.
If everything is suspended, FIRST – go get car insurance. Because you can’t get a license without insurance. And your insurance company wont take you back either, so that means you have to go shop around. Mine wouldn’t take me back. Im a student and pay my own tuition, bills, and etc… they dont care what your reason is they wont take you back.
Next, go get your license.)
If its the first time your license has been suspended, you pay $150 to get it reactivated
If its the second time your license has been suspended (for any reason) it costs $250 to reactivate
And if you had it suspened 3 times or more, it will cost $500 to reactivate.
And if you drive on a suspended license you will go to jail.
if u dont believe me this is all on the dmv website I had to read all this in order to straighten the mess out.
And then you have to go register your car again and the tags…. so yeah if u have time DO IT before they suspend everything.
